In this work, groups of women swim across lurid misty oceans filled with cables and wire contained in two large black tanks. While these big humming rectangles remind us of servers in data storage centres or the system control rooms in tall buildings, the lofty images within evoke the traditions of german romantic painting or the eerie spectres of gothic fiction. This interplay between the physical world and the immaterial spaces of information and ideas speaks to what it is to live in a networked world, where our bodies occupy both time and space yet are forever caught in the ebbs and flows of electronic transfer in data and light.
